Inspired by Tony and Elleyoop, does optimism = happiness? In my email this week, I received something from Mark Victor Hansen that I’d like to share with you: I nearly drove into the ditch when I heard on the radio that people who are happy earn 0000+ more in their lifetime than others. That’s an eye-opener especially given today’s economy. More than 255 studies show that money doesn’t buy happiness. Studies say it is the other way around: Happiness brings money. Happy people are more fulfilled, relaxed, and peaceful, even in this recession. They naturally have greater opportunities, better health, deeper friendships, more success, and so on. Their happiness is NOT because they get all of the good stuff. Rather, they’re naturally happier and, as a result, the good stuff comes. …including high wages. Great relationships. Career advancements. Customers. Great deals. Contentment at home. Isn’t that the best way to live life? Not chasing money or external things to make you happy, but simply being happy from the inside out and enjoying the rewards.” … …This means that no matter what happens at work or in your relationships– no matter what stress plows into you – no matter the financial news — no matter how dire the circumstances — you will AUTOMATICALLY return to a higher level of happiness than you have today. It’s clear: you don’t have to get richer, thinner, or smarter to be happier…”

i’m guessing, there might still be a little pooch on mine after the weight is gone because the skin right there looks so detached but, time will tell and if it does leave with God as my witness i’ll be on here posing in a two piece bathing suit! lol! maybe not!

Wonderful points of views (you and the words you read). I realize you were cut off but the msg is still resounding. Keeping a positive spirit enhances your ability to take things in stride and we experience less anxieties at work. Therefore we expend good energy which radiates in everything we do or say… and it’s contagious. I believe happier people are wealthier people!
